Woo hoo! Day 1 is almost over. I woke up bright and early to get my cardio in at the gym. I did 45 minutes on the elliptical machine, stretched out and went home. I did 30 lunges, and 10 push-ups. I still have 10 of something else to do, I think I'll do another set of lunges when I get home from work tonight. I didn't eat any take out, and ate a whole bunch of veggies and fruits today. Summer squash, zucchini, corn, tomato, onion, scallion, apple and banana. So far I am feeling pretty optimistic about this challenge, but it is olny the first day.
Yesterday I got a half hour brisk walk in at lunch and then did a variety of lunges, sit-up and push-ups in my office on my yoga mat. Push-ups are hard, my goal is to be able to do ten manly push-ups without collapsing. I got my fruits and veggies in (I've been doing weight watchers for 3 months so this has become a habit anyway, you have to eat tons of vegetables or you will always be hungry). I did eat a bite of a coworker's take-out chinese, does that count as take-out? I am not going to take that point, I need to learn to be more conscious of the fried things I'm putting in my mouth.
This is fun! Thanks for organizing this challenge, Emily. I needed something like this to get me exercising again. They say it takes 28 days to form a good habit, so hopefully this one will stick.
Those "manly" push ups are hard. I haven't done them that way in years, but gave it a shot yesterday. I could only do five, and then had to switch to the girly push ups. I am also setting a goal to be able to do 10 of the manly push ups by the end of this.
how's about some power cleaning... just kidding. i didn't give myself a point for it. yesterday (day 3 ) i had lots of veggies on my sandwich and ate a plum no cardio, no strength. once all this moving BS is over, i'm gonna try to focus more on the fitness challenge. if nothing else, this is making me more aware of my food choices and activity level...
I don't get the "This is good" thing, but I click it anyway.
I have been doing 10 girly push-ups a day, and yesterday was able to do 2 manly push-ups in a row, where before I couldn't do anything at all. I am getting there!
